Hiya dudes! Happy Sunday! Starting off the second week of my Birthday Month posts!
Today's lesson: don't let anyone else tell you your dream.
I see this happen a lot, and I struggled with this growing up. I wanted to please everyone, and at the same time, I didn't want conflict. It was so much easier to just do what other people wanted me to do, than to actually dream for myself.
If you're lucky enough to have a dream, don't waste it. Dreams are massively important, not just for you, but for everyone you'll touch through that dream. Even if it seems small to you, it's important. Dreams are given to us for a specific reason, and ignoring them is simply a tragedy.
You're never too old to start your dream. You're never to old to start an adventure. You're also never too young. Don't let anyone tell you what your dream should be, that your dream is silly, or that you should be doing something else. Your soul will never be happy until you've fulfilled that dream, and if you don't, you'll take that regret to your grave. You'll end up feeling empty no matter what you do, and you'll feel as though it was all for nothing.
It's not worth it to please other people. They won't be there in the end, and even if they are, they won't have to face your ending. Your life. On your deathbed, they won't be the ones looking back on your past. You will, and you'll either be proud, or end it all filled with regret.
You only get one life. It's so short, you'll be shocked. It goes by so quickly - don't waste your time. If you have a dream - no matter what it is - chase it. Even if that means you go it alone for a while, you will eventually find your people. Don't give up on your dream - you owe it to yourself to at least try.
Lesson #8: Don't let anyone else tell you your dream. It's your dream, so make it happen. It's worth it. Don't wait - start right now. What do you have to lose?
